The 179th Medical Division was founded in 2023 by Daniel Wiegand and Heinz Formel, inspired by the impressive artwork of Edouard Groult. These illustrations motivated us to dive deeper into the fascinating world of Star Wars medics and bring them to life in a unique way. Our goal is to authentically represent the medical personnel of the Star Wars universe while embodying the friendly and helpful spirit of medics.

Our Values and Philosophy

Unity and friendship are our top priorities. We are more than just a cosplay group; we are a community. At every event, we not only have fun but also focus on supporting our fellow cosplayers. If someone needs help, we’re there. These values are reflected not only in our costumes but also in our actions. As medics, we are here for the community both within the Star Wars universe and in real life.

Membership and Requirements

We always welcome new members who wish to join our unique focus on Star Wars medical personnel. To join, a medic costume inspired by Edouard Groult’s designs is required. Whether made from ABS or 3D-printed material, what matters most is a clean finish and attention to detail. The reference color for the dark green stripes is Montana Gold “Jungle.” The design should fit seamlessly into the Star Wars universe and capture the essence of a medic. Tips and resources for materials and details are available on our Discord server, where we’re happy to provide support and advice to new members.

Events and Presence

The 179th participates in both large and small cosplay events, as well as any occasion where we’re invited. Whether conventions, charity events, or private gatherings, we bring the Star Wars universe to every corner and are always excited for the opportunity to share our mission and passion.

Collaboration with Other Groups

We are always open to partnerships and collaborations with other groups. Currently, we have a close partnership with the Galactic Academy Germany and are thrilled to enrich events together with them, further strengthening the Star Wars community. Such partnerships allow us to expand our reach and share the magic of the Star Wars universe with even more people.

Charitable Involvement

As a group, we are also committed to charitable causes beyond the cosplay world. We focus especially on supporting children’s institutions. Within our means, we raise funds, participate in charity events, and are ready to help wherever needed. Our mission doesn’t end with cosplay – we strive to make a positive impact in real life and contribute to meaningful causes.
